To celebrate our one-year anniversary, here is a list of the ten most popular lists we have posted.  Some we expected to become popular, but some have taken us by surprise.  The title of each is a link to that list, and the pictures are chosen from the original lists.  I want to give an honorable mention to Top 10 Most Useful Angry Birds Character.  This list was published quite recently, and while it is 11th, it has been the second most popular list this past month, and just missed the cut.

 

#10 Top 10 Medical Uses for Illegal Drugs

This list has been popular amongst college students who have shared it.  At the time of writing the list marijuana was illegal in the US, but is now legal in two states.

#9 Top 10 Best Selling Apps Ever

This list was compiled when Apple reached their milestone of 25 billion apps.  Although this list does change a lot, one app is consistently on top of this list and that is – Angry Birds.  The other apps on the list are still very popular so views remain high.

#8 Top 10 Incredible Natural Features

Our Earth is an incredible place and this list details the top 10 incredible features that are not man made.

#7 Top 10 Likeliest Future “Mega Disasters”

This list became very popular during Hurricane Sandy as one of the “mega disasters” on the list was a hurricane hitting New York and flooding the city, which is what happened!  So maybe it is not a future disaster anymore but one of the past!

#6 Top 10 Countries by Tourist Arrival

People all over the world love to travel to new and exciting destinations.  This list get a lot of traffic as people are always looking up where the most popular destinations are.

#5. Top 10 Countries Suffering the Most Casualties in World War II

This is one of our more morbid lists, but it is an important historical list.  World War II was one of the most important periods of human history, and unfortunately there were a great deal of lives lost.

 

#4. Top 10 Most Popular Soda Brands

The world loves a good soda, and with brands like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Fanta on this list, it was bound to become popular.  Its popularity has only grown since it was posted in late May.

 

#3. Top 10 Countries with the Most Olympic Medals

London’s fantastic Olympics was one of the biggest events of the year, and this is reflected by the Olympic medals list, featuring the ten countries with the most Summer Olympic medals in the history of the Games.

 

#2. Top 10 Best Selling Albums of All Time

After Whitney Houston’s sudden death in February, this list exploded in popularity, and was our top list for months, before it was finally overtaken.  The Bodyguard features on this list at number 4.

 

#1. Top 10 Countries with the Highest Suicide Rates

Suicide is an extremely controversial subject, which is perhaps why this list is our most popular of all time, something I can’t pretend to be thrilled about.  However, I just hope even a single person rethought their decision of suicide after reading this list.
